Last week, I spoke about the importance of the Great Lakes at a meeting of the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans, with Minister Joyce Murray. The Great Lakes give us so much, yet we often forget that keeping them great takes time, interest, and smart investments. The Great Lakes advantage is a Canadian legacy, and I am working hard to ensure that this legacy is there to be passed on to our children. I am eager to do more once Budget 2022 is released.
The Great Lakes are a national priority and the time for meaningful investment is now. We must seize the opportunity to work together, to protect and to keep our Great Lakes great. Not just for Canadians today, but for future generations to enjoy and benefit from.
