I had the privilege of attending Patrick Lance’s 100th birthday celebration Saturday afternoon.

I was honoured to read a special message from the Prime Minister and present Mr. Lance with certificates from myself, the P.M. and the Governor General. He received recognition from both municipal and provincial governments.

Mr. Lance was also presented with five medals he earned during WWII, along with a Medal of Remembrance from Holland.

Mr. Lance is a living symbol of our country’s greatest generation.

Congratulations Patrick, and happy 100th birthday!
