We may occasionally take it for granted, but one visit to Niagara Falls reminds us of how truly remarkable and special this natural wonder really is. It was my pleasure today to be invited to come see the updated Journey Behind the Falls facilities and the unveiling of a very special piece of art now on display at its entrance.
As well as extensive renovations to entrance to the Journey experience, the Niagara Parks Commission has received permission to display a reproduction of a painting by Indigenous artist Oren Lyons entitled Maid of the Mist and the Thunder Beings which currently belongs to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington. Thank you to Commission Chair April Jeffs and all the employees with Niagara Parks for making our visit so memorable.
